Hi, I'm Leah. I'll be on the February 17th Primary ballot for a position on the Three Lakes Town Board. There are five candidates vying for two seats, and the Primary will narrow it down to four to continue to the Spring Election. So I need your help!I love this town like you love this town. As a member of the Three Lakes Town Board of Supervisors, my goal is to aim for steady future growth while honoring the rich history, deep roots, and natural beauty of this place we call home.

WHAT BROUGHT ME HERE

Whenever I meet new people, I try to make a point to ask what brought them to Three Lakes. It's fascinating that so many of us have similar stories. My grandparents first started vacationing here in 1945, when my mom was just a young girl. Carrying on the tradition, I grew up spending a week or two every summer playing along the shoreline of Medicine Lake, jumping off the end of the pier, keeping the sounds and smells of the Northwoods close in my memory to hold me through another year.

Some people are fortunate to call Three Lakes home through fate, some through family. This town always held a piece of my heart, and it captured my husband's heart as well. We bought our cabin here in 2007, and moved here permanently five years later. Our personal goal is to create the same childhood memories and impress the same love for the Northwoods on the hearts of our grandchildren - breathing life into this town for generations to come.

WHAT I BRING TO THE TABLE

As a small business owner, I understand the challenges specific to the Northwoods. My entire career has been working with or for non-profits and small businesses, focusing on creating clear messaging with their clients and stakeholders.

My faith is a big part of who I am, so I've always made it a goal to give a portion of my time and talents to non-profits that are making a difference in our community. Since moving to Three Lakes over a decade ago, I've served extensively with Three Lakes Free Church, serving as a deaconess and founding their Common Ground Women's Ministry, I've served on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, worked with the Historical Society, and continue to volunteer my professional services with FORK.

What I also hope to accomplish, should I be elected, is to improve trust and communication between the residents of Three Lakes and town government. We all have been drawn to this town and are committed to creating a stable future for it.
I encourage you to get out and vote, subscribe to the town newsletter, attend town meetings, join a committee, or volunteer with one of the area's non-profits. You won't regret getting involved and contributing to the Three Lakes Community!
